An Exceptional Course

It starts with the golf experience you'll discover on our championship 18-hole course designed by acclaimed architect Thomas McBroom

Wind-swept bunkers and tempting water hazards challenge the play of most holes. Nostalgic views of the river valley, oak tree grove and nearby monastery speak of a rich history.

Measuring 5,314 to 7,311 yards in length, Southwood caters to all levels of players by offering a choice of five tees and a selection of individual, couple and corporate membership packages.
  • Outstanding, professional golf instruction
  • Tour-quality, Thomas McBroom designed course
  • World-class practice facility
  • Competitive share and entrance fees
  • Manitoba’s only course ever nominated by Golf Digest as the Best New Golf Course in Canada.

Adjacent to the Trappist Monastery Ruins in St. Norbert, the 18-hole course was designed by renowned Canadian architect Thomas McBroom to the highest standards. The spectacular natural and historic surroundings provide a perfect setting over almost 300 acres. An additional 9 holes are planned for the future.

Tree groves, river valley and historic ruins have been left largely untouched, while natural contours of the land are maximized to create distinct landmarks, shadows, hills and ridges. From tee to green or green to tee, riding or walking, every golfer can expect a great experience.

Almost every hole features a water or sand hazard – or both – to challenge your approach to state-of-the-art greens emerging from their fescue surroundings. There’s rarely a flat lie and in many cases, players will need to draw on precision as much as power to get to the green. At some high points, golfers have a view of the course’s impressive expanse and beauty. From here, you can assess the challenges that await you and the game you’ll need to play.

Our 9th hole takes you on a journey parallel to the monastery and straight through the ruins of a farm and its surrounding trees. You’ll need more than a hope and a prayer to land safely on the green. Just beyond, our welcoming clubhouse beckons.
